Flowering: April-June. Biennial. Garden escape. Introduced.

Purple flowers, unscented, 4-petalled. Occasionally white. Distinctive round, flat, silvery fruit. Long-stalked, toothed, hairy, heart-shaped basal leaves. Stem leaves stalkless, opposite. Erect growth habit. Height: To 1.5m.

Occasional garden escape, waste ground, roadsides, woods.
