Thyme-leaved Sandwort Small 5-petalled white flowers, sepals longer than undivided petals. Seed capsule usually flask-shaped with broad base, narrow neck. Unstalked, pointed leaves are small, downy, oval. Bushy growth. Height: 3-20cm. Walls, also cultivated or bare limestone or sandy soils and gravelled rides in conifer plantations. Scatterd distribution, most frequent S, SW, central Ireland. Similar: Slender Sandwort, A. serpyllifolia ssp. leptoclados Capsule straight-sided. Slender plant. |
