Doves-foot Crane's-bill Pink flowers, deeply notched, petals longer than sepals. Occasionally pale pink. 10 stamens (photo below right). Hairless, ridged fruit, smooth seeds. Leaves grey-green, rounded / kidney-shaped, 5-7 lobes, each 3-lobed at top. Upper leaves alternate, very deeply divided. Long white hairs on semi-prostrate stems. Very variable plant. Height: 5-25cm Dry sandy or calcareous soil. Grassland, dunes, arable, waste ground. Similar: Small-flowered Crane's-bill, G. pusillum. Mauve-pink flowers, only 5 stamens. Round-leaved Crane's-bill, G. rotundifolium. Netted seeds. Petals barely notched. |
