Cat's-ear Bright yellow flowers, greyish below outer florets. Long, thin, narrow, colourless scales amongst the flowers. Stems more/less hairless, enlarging at top, with dark, scaly bracts. Simple or once/twice branched. Leaves wavy-toothed, more/less bristly, oblong-lanceolate in basal rosette. Flower stems 20-40cm. Very variable. Very common on roadsides, walls, grassland, dunes.
