Smith's Pepperwort Racemes of small white flowers with violet anthers. Petals longer than sepals. Fruit oblong, longer than wide. Upper part flattened wing. Lower leaves oval-lanceolate, soon wither. Stem leaves triangular, toothed, clasping stem. Stems branched from base. Plant dies back after fruiting. Acidic sandy ground. Walls, dry heaths, waste ground, road and field banks. Also disused railways and quarries. Locally frequent S and E Ireland. |
