Flowering time: June-August. Perennial. Native.

Erect spikes of flowers with yellow anthers. Capsule with 2 dark-brown
seeds. Rounded flower stalks longer than leaves, to 30cm.
Narrow fleshy leaves, linear, 3-5 veined. Untoothed.
Leaves growing from woody base, to 20cm. Usually many leaf rosettes.

Frequent, coasts and salt-marshes. Also found inland in W, N Ireland,
on mountains, lake edges.
