Laurel / Cherry Laurel White flowers in erect racemes followed by non-edible black berries. Evergreen shiny-green leathery leaves, small-toothed. Spreads by bird-sown seeds and root suckering. Height to 7m. Woods, waste ground, roadsides. Widespread garden escape, can be invasive. P. laurocerasus 'Otto Luyken': Compact cultivar, narrow, pointed leaves, often flowering again in autumn.
