Marsh Cinquefoil Dark reddish-purple flowers, 5 petals. Sepals longer and wider than petals. Lower leaves with 5-7 toothed leaflets, upper leaves are palmate or trifoliate, alternate. Grows from creeping woody rhizomes. Height: 30-50cm Permanently damp ground, wet grassland, lake edges, bog pools, marshes. Found throughout Ireland, declining in South due to habitat loss. |
