Flowering time: June-August. Aquatic perennial. Native.

Flowerheads are green and spherical, in branched racemes. Male flower-heads
are above, female flower-heads below. Erect stem leaves, keeled at base.
Hairless. In deep, fast-flowing water may develop narrow submerged or
floating leaves. Height: 50-150 cm

Found in still and moving freshwater with mud substrate.
