Flowering time: June-September. Perennial. Native.

Solitary pink/purple flowers on short stalks from leaf axils. Seedpod with 1-3 seeds, about same length as calyx. Alternate leaves with 1 or 3 oval leaflets, toothed. Young shoots sticky-hairy. Stems are woody at base, branched, sometimes ending in spine. Creeping or sprawling growth habit. Height/spread: 10-50cm

Rough grassland, scrub, dunes, waste ground.
Mainly found in S, E Ireland.
