Bee Orchid Pink sepals, spread wide, reddish-brown labellum resembling a bee. Labellum velvety, broader than sepals, almost same length. Loose rosette of grey-green, lanceolate, pointed leaves. Erect leafy stem. Tuberous root system. Height:25-45cm. Calcareous grassland, dunes, old quarries, meadows. Rare, scattered distribution. Protected in Northern Ireland. |
