Clusters of golden-yellow flowers with dark hairs on stems.
Flowers larger than other Sow-thistles.
Alternate, stem-clasping, grey-green leaves. Pinnate, toothed,
slightly prickly margins. Stems and leaves bristly.
Spreading rhizomatous rootstock. Height: 80-150cm

Frequent on waste and cultivated ground, coastal sand and shingle.
