Water-purslane Very small pinkish-white flowers growing from leaf-axils. The 6 petals are very small or sometimes absent. 12-toothed calyx. Small oval leaves, stalked, opposite. Creeping, hairless stems, reddish-green, rooting at nodes. Height/spread: stems 5-20 cm long. Damp bare ground, heaths, paths, ditches, receding margins of water bodies. Frequent in SW, occasional elsewhere in Ireland. |
