Common Valerian Terminal corymbs of pinky-white flowers, strongly scented. Opposite pinnate leaves, with lanceolate, usually toothed leaflets. Unbranched erect stems. Height to 125cm. Very variable. Very frequent. Damp/wet ground, meadows, woods, riversides, ditches. Similar: Pyrenean / Giant Valerian, V. pyrenaica. Taller. Undivided heart-shaped leaves. Bright pink flowers. Very rare, N Ireland. |
