Tormentil Long stalked yellow flowers, usually 4 petals, sepals. Carpels normally 4-12. Basal leaf rosette, often withered before flowering. Leaves ternate, 3 leaflets, 2 leaf-like stipules at base. Stalkless. Erect or trailing stems, not rooting. Height 10-30cm. Abundant. Acidic grassland, moors, heaths, hedgebanks. Similar: Trailing Tormentil, P. anglica |
