Flowering time: May-September. Perennial. Native.

Erect spikes of mauve-blue or whitish-blue flowers from leaf-axils. Flower stalks shorter than bracts. Flat seed capsule. Short-stalked lower leaves, hairy, oval, blunt-toothed. Leaves tapered at base. Semi-erect to creeping growth habit. Height /spread: 15-35cm.

Heaths, grassland, open woodland on slightly acidic ground, also found on walls. Very frequent.
