Flowering time: July - October. Perennial / biennial. Native.

Flowers blue-mauve, short outer florets. Surrounded by involucral bracts.
Stalked leaves, oval-lanceolate. Shallow-toothed or entire, mainly near base of plant. Erect stems, usually sparsely hairy. Height: 40-120cm.

Widespread on damp ground. Fields, roadsides, heaths, cut-away bogs.
