Flowers with no petals but conical yellow-green receptacles. Strong smell of pineapple when crushed. Very fine-cut leaves, erect stems. Height 5-40cm.

Very common on bare compact ground. Wasteland, paths, roadsides, arable land.

Similar: Mayweeds - similar leaves, white flowers with yellow centres.
