Redshank Stout spikes of pink flowers, occasionally white. Sepals without glands. Fruit is black, shiny nut. Short-stalked leaves, oval-lanceolate, usually with black blotch. Branched hairless plant. Stems reddish-green, erect or straggling to 50cm. Common on damp ground, arable land, wasteland. Similar: Pale Persicaria, P. lapathifolia |
